Photography is one of the most popular past times in the world and for good reason.  The intense technology attracts those with a technical pension and the artistic nature of the medium attracts those who see life in their mind.  The best photographers have both the technical and the artistic:  as an Engineer/Actor/Director I aspire to be that person.    I live life and love people; it is there that I hope to use my art.

I am not one to spend a week in the woods photographing flowers (while I praise those that do, thanking them for the beautiful photographs they make), for how would I enjoy being with people in that venue?   Asked if I’d like to go fishing, I would reply that if fishing included fellowship, I’m in.  If photography includes fellowship, I’m in.

The best part of shooting a portrait, a live show, a wedding or other event is the opportunity to get to know you, share your joys, and see your face light up when the images capture those things that we have both experienced.  I re-live your events over and over every time I look at the photographs, loving them as much as you did.

About me
I have always had a passion for photography and the visual arts.  Since I shot pictures for the school paper for four years, almost living in the dark room back in the 70s, seeing life through the lens has always been natural for me.  The switch to digital has allowed me to return to the darkroom and revel in the beauty God has in store for us.

Expanding my interests through life has included so much, I can’t account for it all here.  Chris Orwig once said that to become a better photographer, you can’t retreat into technology, you must get out and live life.  By doing this we are better able to recognize that which is beautiful and worthy of capture.  To this I say, “Amen”.

My greatest passion is for the Lord and my family and especially my wife, Robyn.  Without them, I would miss the very best life has to offer.

When not working as a Professional Engineer, my family and I enjoy live theater.  There I have all performed under various roles from ensemble cast to leads and directing.    My musical background lends to my understanding of performance arts; through experience I hope to capture these and other venues on film.
